Meet Ms. Smith

Chanda Smith, Media Specialist

 

Ms. Chanda Smith is the Media Specialist at Mulberry Elementary.  

 

While this role is new to me, I'm not new to Mulberry. I've spent time learning the inner workings of library services by supporting all Gwinnett County schools through my role with the Library Media Services department at the Instructional Support Center. I'm excited to bring that experience back home!

I have a deep passion for serving the Mulberry community, and my journey here began as a parent who volunteered in any way I could. I started by substituting, which eventually led to the opportunity to work as the media clerk. From there, I transitioned to the ISC as a Media Technology Specialist, where I had the privilege of working with media specialists across Gwinnett County. In that role, I became an integral part of programs like the Book Mobile Bus, the annual 5K, and Readers Rally.

On a personal note, my husband, Kenneth, and I are proud parents to two amazing young ladies who were fortunate to be Meerkats at Mulberry (if you know, you know). They are both now thriving at Dacula High.

I’m truly excited to contribute my knowledge and passion to the Mulberry community.
